A 2 tier wedding veil has two layers: a long back layer and a shorter front layer called the blusher, which you can wear over your face as you walk down the aisle and lift back once you reach the altar. Our 2 tier veils come in scattered pearl, pearl-edged and rhinestone styles, in ivory and champagne, from 88cm to 5m long and from $140.

What Is a Blusher Veil?
The blusher is the short front layer of a 2 tier veil. It sits over your face during the processional and is then folded back over your head, where it rests on top of the longer back layer for the rest of the day. Wearing the blusher down is optional: many brides wear it lifted from the start and simply enjoy the extra fullness of the second layer.
When Is the Blusher Lifted, and Who Lifts It?
Traditionally, the person walking you down the aisle lifts the blusher when you arrive at the altar, or your partner lifts it just before the vows or the first kiss. There's no fixed rule, so choose whatever suits your ceremony and let your celebrant and photographer know in advance so the moment is captured.
2 Tier vs 1 Tier vs Double Layer Veils
A 1 tier veil is a single layer of tulle with no blusher, for a clean, minimal look. A 2 tier veil adds the blusher, which gives you the option of a face-covering entrance and more fullness around the head once it's lifted. A double layer veil also has two layers, but both fall behind you, so you get extra volume without anything that can go over your face.
Lengths and Widths
Our 2 tier veils range from 88cm, a short style that sits around the shoulders or elbows, to 5m, which trails well past a cathedral-length train. Most styles also come in several widths, from 137cm for a slimmer, closer fit to 274cm for a wide veil that spreads out behind you in photographs. Longer, wider veils suit formal ceremonies and long aisles, while shorter lengths are easier to manage outdoors or at the reception.
Pearl, Rhinestone and Colour Options
Choose a Tahlia scattered pearl veil or the Sydney pearl veil for soft detail, the Rhinestone Wedding Veil for sparkle, or the Nahla in warm champagne with a pearl-framed front edge. Ivory suits most wedding dresses; champagne works best with warm-toned and champagne gowns. See all our pearl veils.
2 Tier Veil FAQs
Do I have to wear the blusher over my face?
No. The blusher can be worn down for the processional or lifted back from the start. Either way, it adds fullness to the veil around your head.
Do your 2 tier veils come with a comb?
Most do. A few styles, including the Nahla and some Rhinestone lengths, have no comb and are pinned into your hair by your stylist, which lets them place the veil exactly where it suits your hairstyle.
What length 2 tier veil should I choose?
Choose a shorter length, up to about 150cm, for a relaxed or outdoor wedding, or if your dress has detail at the back you want to show off. Choose 300cm or longer for a dramatic, formal entrance with a long aisle.
Can I wear a tiara or headpiece with a 2 tier veil?
Yes. Wear the tiara or headpiece just in front of the veil comb. With the blusher lifted, it will sit neatly behind your headpiece.
