Why choose chapel length over cathedral?

At 220cm, Sophia is a chapel veil. It reaches the floor and extends a short distance past a standard train, without the metre or more of trailing fabric a cathedral veil adds.

Chapel length is the practical choice for a garden, beach, vineyard or registry-office ceremony, where a cathedral veil would drag across grass, sand or gravel. It also suits a reception you intend to stay in the veil for, since there is far less fabric to gather up while you move between guests. Choose cathedral length instead when you are marrying in a formal church or ballroom and want maximum presence in the aisle.

The 165cm width keeps the veil close to the shoulders rather than fanning out widely, which is part of why a mantilla drapes the way it does.

Which dresses does the Sophia suit?

Lace on lace is the classic mantilla pairing, but it is not the only one that works.

Charlotte and Olympia are pearl mantillas at cathedral length or longer, for a more formal and more dramatic entrance. If your ceremony is outdoors or informal, Sophia is almost always the better veil.
